Quote: The game is simply epmty. There is so much potential, but yet there is so much missing.
You either meet freindly people who will give you the shirt off thier back, or ****heads like Setec who want to take it from you. Almost like there is only 2 ways to play this game.
Why are so many not having fun? Why are so many leaving?
Is it really our fualt, we simply don't know how to play? The griefers are the only ones to figure out how to play, so they are the only one who deserve EVE? That seems to be the attitude.
Yes, yes it is your fault. Look at what you've said above, about how you interact with people in game.
The game does have potential, it does have immersion, it's just too many attention deficit whiners who want it handed on a plate.
I am CEO of a small corp, all of whom have jobs that require large amounts of time. Therefore, we can only invest a relatively small amount of time in Eve - some more than others.
Yet we have excitement, adventure, fun. Immersion. We have manufacturing, tangling with PC pirates, we've formed alliances, done deals.
We've built up networks of contacts, routes of trade for non-market items.
Even when mining - sitting there for 3 hours at a stretch - we have fun. Conversation, plans, tactics, chatting with contacts.

Some of you are right when you say that there are tons of different ways to play this game, that maybe true, but there seems to be only a couple of ways to advance (make isk)through the game, this limits the fun factor drastically.
This is utter rubbish. The only thing stopping you from making ISK in other ways is your own lack of imagination.
Besides which - why on earth do you think ISK is important here? Do you honestly think that having more, having bigger and better stuff, is what it's about?
I spend the bulk of my time flying a Vigil. That's right, some tiny little frigate. And I take on NPC spawns in uncharted space with it.
Why? Because it's fun! Because I've thought about what to do, chatted with corp mates about it, trained up some skills, used some modules in an odd way, and given it a go.
And hey! Guess what? It's fun! It works! It's something new and interesting!
Yet I have a Rupture stacked with high end gear, that I rarely fly.
Constant complaints by small minded whiners who feel that EVE should somehow be like Quake, or the Sims, or some other rubbish limited linear game with no challenge are what threatens the game.
And you, White Dwarf, are the worst example of such unimaginative whiners out there. You will never be satisfied, because the game is fundamentally not what you want.
Face up to the fact that your whining will not cripple this game, will never force the Devs to hamstring it, to cripple it to the point where it's playable for any narrow minded whiner who wants to point and click through EVE like they're channel surfing on TV.

I'll give this game 3 more months to immerse me, then decide whether playing with guys like Setec is what I really want out of EVE.
Your arrogance is unbelievable. Do you honestly think such a childish threat will result in anything other than (well deserved) derision for yourself?
Here's a thought - save yourself the effort, and quit now. EVE will never be what you want - because that sort of crippled game is not what CCP want, it's not what the bulk of the players want.
Quit now, spare yourself some more self-indulgent whining, and move on to something more your style.
In fact, I shall help you on your way. Think Setec's bad? I'll go out of my way to waste you on site.
Cheers, TOM
